As part of our Shri Bhagawan Mahaveer Manavatha Kendra Trust and Shri Anjaneya Swami temple programs, we also celebrate with great aplomb, the following religious festivals:
- Shivaratri
Our Maha Shivaratri celebrations are conducted with great pomp and splendour. We welcome Lord Shiva with jaagaranae (all-night performances), dancing, singing, plays from the epics and more. We do a grand puja in the morning and distribute prasad amongst all devotees.
- Krishna Janamotsav
We celebrate the birth of our beloved Lord Kaanha with colourful decorations, bhajans, clapping, music and chants. Bring your children along with you, dressed as Baby Krishna and immerse yourself in the divine spirit. We end the day with mouth-watering sweets that are distributed as bhog.
- Hanuman Jayanthi
The festival of Hanuman Jayanthi is one of our grandest celebrations at our Shri Anjaneya Swami temple. The festivities start very early in the day and we decorate the temple and vigraha to welcome Shri Hanumanji.
We sing bhajans devoted to Shri Hanumanji, narrate the Hanuman Chalisa and the great epic Ramayan and then make diverse neivedya (offerings) to Shri Anjaneya Swami.
- Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great pomp and splendour at the temple. We light auspicious lamps to welcome Shri Ganesha. Then we perform a Ganesh Chaturthi puja which is open to the public.
We also have a full day of Ganesha pujas, aarti, bhog, singing Ganapathi Chalisa and mantra chanting.
- Mahaveer Jayanti
The Shri Bhagawan Mahaveer Manavatha Kendra Trust has built two Jain temples in addition to 11 other temples. Here, Mahavir Janma Kalyanak is a very special day, filled with rituals, philosophical discourses, reading of the Bhagwatisutra UvasagadasaoAdi PuranaKalpasutra and meditation.
We also do a special Abhishek at the end of the festivities and share prasad with all present. You can take some prasad back home to your loved ones.
